Christ Church Biddulph Moor

Our Story

Under the pastoral care of the Diocese of Lichfield and the Leek Deanery, Christ Church Biddulph Moor has been a spiritual home for individuals and families in this village for over 160 years.

Our congregation is rooted in the traditions of the Anglican faith, and we welcome all who wish to explore and deepen their relationship with God and with the people of this community.

The vision for an Anglican church on the moor was championed by James Bateman of Biddulph Grange in the mid-19th century. Consecrated in 1863, Christ Church was built from stone quarried locally at Over the Hill.

The Churchyard

Every parish church wishes its churchyard to be a place of peace and refuge: for those who mourn and for those who simply wish to sit quietly in a beautiful, historic space.

Christ Church churchyard has been the resting place of Biddulph Moor families for generations. We care for it with respect and love, and welcome visitors at any reasonable time.
